Most sellers are genuine, but scams exist on every marketplace. These steps protect you.
Jekky Marketpoint does not guarantee every seller or listing. Buyers should inspect products, verify ownership and confirm details before making payment.
Before you pay
- Meet in a public place during daylight, and bring someone with you.
- Inspect the item yourself, or send someone you trust.
- Never pay a deposit for an item you have not seen.
- Be cautious with prices far below the market — they are the most common bait.
Buying a phone
- Dial *#06# to read the IMEI and confirm it matches the device and box.
- Check that the device is not iCloud or account locked before paying.
- Test the SIM slots, cameras, charging port, speakers and battery health.
- Condition labels such as “UK Used” describe the seller's claim, not a guarantee.
Buying a car
- Arrange an independent mechanical inspection before paying.
- Verify ownership documents and confirm the seller's identity matches them.
- Check the chassis number against the papers.
- Confirm customs and registration status in writing.
Verification badges
A verified badge appears only after our team has completed verification for that seller. If there is no badge, treat the seller as unverified.
